Strategy #1: Tell Your Story
Customers already know that you’re a company trying to sell them something. But they probably don’t know anything about you or why you’re doing what you do. Whether or not you realize it, your story is a valuable marketing strategy, especially if it has an emotional or inspirational component.
Why were you inspired to start a business? What did you have to overcome to get where you are today? What type of future do you see for yourself and the world? Go ahead and share all of that with your audience. It will make you seem more real to them and give them something to connect with when they think about your brand.
Strategy #2: Give Your Audience Value
Companies that stand out are the ones that know what they’re doing. Unfortunately, in many cases, it’s hard for customers to see if you’re the real deal without spending any money. The solution? Give away what you know and show off your skills before prospects ever buy anything.
Of course, this doesn’t mean you should give away your actual products for free. There are a lot of great ways to highlight your skills like writing amazing blog posts, creating tutorial videos, giving away a few freebies on social media or even starting a podcast or YouTube channel.
Strategy #3: Create an Incredible Customer Experience
Delivering a great product is important, but your work doesn’t end there. See, great products are everywhere, so it’s hard to stand out on those alone. But if you go above and beyond in the other areas of your business, you’ll create a positive, memorable experience your customers will love.
Think about brands you’ve had a positive experience with before. What did they do differently that made them stand out for you? Maybe they went above and beyond during your interaction with them? Or perhaps they really let their personality shine through? Take some time to think about it and then consider how you might incorporate those same strategies into your own business.
You might have a lot of competition in your market, but that doesn’t mean you can’t stand out from the crowd and catch attention. Tell your brand story in a compelling manner, provide unparalleled value to your audience and create an incredible customer experience to set yourself apart.
